About

MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the SCA Middle School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/ social development of each and every student. The school counselor’s role is to foster personal responsibility in students and facilitate the support system to help ensure that all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute as successful and productive members of our 21st century society.

ABOUT THE COUNSELOR:

I started at Southern Columbia Area in 2010 as the middle school counselor. Prior to that, I worked as a Multi-Systemic therapist (MST) and both a mobile therapist and behavioral specialist consultant in the home and community setting. I graduated from Shikellamy High School, the University of Pittsburgh (Bachelor's), and Duquesne University (Master's). Currently, I live in Danville with my husband Kyle, two daughters Sylvie (5), Sadie (2), and our dogs Wilson and Maple. When I'm not at school, I love to be outdoors, especially in the woods or on the beach!
